Why This Blueprint Exists: Strength for the Great Commission

The short answer

The Live Full Blueprint exists so believers have the strength, clarity and years to pour their lives out for the Great Commission — not to live long for themselves. For more than 12 years Katie and I have done that on the streets of Hamilton, from Love on Hamilton in 2014 to Love on The World, the Jesus Festival and evangelism training for churches, in partnership with e3 Canada and I Am Second. The harvest is plentiful and the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37). You can stand with us by praying, by bringing evangelism training to your church, or by becoming a monthly partner through e3 Ministry Canada at KD-Ziedins.com.

The question behind every page

Every page of this site — the thirteen body systems, the sleep protocol, the walk after dinner — rests on a question I want to put on the table plainly: what is all this health for?

If the answer is a longer, more comfortable life lived for ourselves, we have missed it. Scripture never treats the body as a project to perfect. It treats it as something to be spent. Paul, writing to people he loved, said he would most gladly spend and be spent for their souls. And when he looked back over his own life, this was the measure he used:

That is why I care about sleep and strength and what is on your plate. Not because the body is the point — but because a body that is stewarded well is a life that can be poured out for the Gospel for longer, with more clarity, and with more joy.

“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

— Acts 20:24

The harvest is plentiful

Look at where Jesus says the most famous words about the harvest. Matthew 9 tells us he went through all the cities and villages, teaching, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he turned to his disciples:

Healing and harvest sit side by side in that chapter, and they belong together on this site too. Jesus restored bodies — and then he asked for more workers. The need he saw on the roads of Galilee is the need on the streets of every Canadian city tonight.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

— Matthew 9:37–38

Plunder hell, populate heaven

The evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, who preached to millions across Africa, used to sum up the whole of his calling in four words: plunder hell to populate heaven. It is a fierce phrase, and it is a biblical one.

Jesus said he came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10), and that the gates of hell would not prevail against his church (Matthew 16:18). Every person who comes to Christ is someone rescued — Paul describes it as being delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of God's beloved Son. That is not a metaphor for self-improvement. It is a rescue, and the church is sent to carry it out.

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

— Colossians 1:13–14

What it looks like on the streets of Hamilton

Katie and I have had the privilege of serving in ministry for over twelve years. It began in 2014 with Love on Hamilton — a deep desire to share the Gospel with everyone we meet, while offering practical love and care to our city's homeless community.

We have watched God move in ways we could never manufacture: lives healed, chains of addiction broken, people delivered, and many coming to faith in Christ. Salvations and baptisms have become regular testimonies of His grace. What began as a small outreach has grown into a movement of more than fifty people gathering every week to evangelize in Hamilton — and into Love on The World, carrying the same mission to other cities.

In 2022 we launched Overflow, a Sunday evening service where the Holy Spirit was given full permission to move. Every year, thousands gather at the Jesus Festival in Hamilton to worship and hear the Gospel. And one of our greatest passions is equipping local churches to make evangelism a lifestyle — giving ordinary believers the tools, confidence and courage to step out so God can move through them.

Why we serve with e3 Canada

We serve in partnership with e3 Canada and I Am Second. e3 exists to equip believers to evangelize and to establish multiplying, life-changing churches around the world — which is exactly the shape of what God has put on our hearts.

Multiplication is the whole strategy of the New Testament. Jesus poured into twelve. Paul told Timothy to pass what he had learned to faithful people who would teach others also. One evangelist reaches a street; an equipped church reaches a city. That is why our latest mission is to help establish one hundred multiplying outreach groups around the world — ordinary believers, equipped and sent to bring the Gospel and practical love into their own communities. You can see that vision at Evangelize.World.

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”

— 2 Timothy 2:2

You have a role to play

We believe Canada is on the brink of its greatest revival, and that everyone who follows Jesus has a part to play in it. Not everyone is called to the streets every week. But no one is called to watch. Here is how you can stand with us:

  • Pray. Ask the Lord of the harvest for labourers (Matthew 9:38), for open hearts in Hamilton and across Canada, and for Katie and me to keep going with strength and joy.
  • Equip your church. Bring evangelism training to your congregation, so your people grow in the confidence to share their faith wherever they already live and work.
  • Partner monthly. Monthly partners make it possible for us to give our lives fully to this work. We pray for our partners daily, and every partner receives a monthly update with the stories most people never see.
  • Share the mission. Send this page to someone who carries the same fire.

Live full, then pour out

On the body map on this site, the feet carry a verse that has nothing to do with arches or ankles. It is Romans 10:15 — How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! That is the point of the whole Blueprint in a single line. Strong feet are good. Feet that carry the Gospel are beautiful.

So sleep well, eat well, move well, rest on the Sabbath — and then spend all of it. Go to bed early so you can wake up and love your city. Get strong so you can carry someone else's burden. Live full, so that there is more of you to pour out.

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?”

— Romans 10:14–15

Common questions

What does health have to do with the Great Commission?

The body is not the goal; it is what we spend in obedience. Stewarding sleep, food, movement and rest gives believers more strength, clarity and years to serve, and the Live Full Blueprint exists for that reason — so that more of a life can be poured out for the Gospel.

What does "plunder hell to populate heaven" mean?

It is a phrase made famous by the evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, summing up evangelism as a rescue: people are delivered from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of Christ (Colossians 1:13), and the gates of hell cannot prevail against the church on that mission (Matthew 16:18).
